One of the newest teams in the state, the Monash Mudbloods formed as a sister team to the Monash Muggles at the start of 2017. As a completely new team in a well-established league, the Mudbloods faced some tough battles, but thanks to a whole lot of grit and determination, the team has gone from strength to strength. Emerging from simply learning the ropes to competing in their first snitch-range games, and then achieving their first wins, the year’s work culminated in the team’s attendance at the Australian National Quidditch Championships in December 2017. And armed with the knowledge that enjoyment of the sport is their central aim, there is little doubt that the Mudbloods will continue to be successful.
Priding themselves on their passion, team spirit and friendliness, the Mudbloods are always open to new players who want to experience the joy that is quidditch, alongside some quality banter and the occasional spontaneous team dinner. They can be found training twice a week at Monash University’s Clayton campus. The team can’t wait to see what 2018 will bring for them – whatever it is, it’s sure to be brilliant!
