Though quidditch at Monash began in 2012, the Monash Muggles Quidditch Team formally made their début in the Victorian Quidditch Association’s Winter League in June of 2013. Since then the Muggles have battled it out with other teams around Victoria and interstate in various tournaments and leagues. In 2014 the Muggles became the champions of the inaugural Victoria Cup and Melbourne Mudbash and made a solid run through pool play and finals to place 3rd at QUAFL, Australia’s national tournament.
The Muggles rely on their speedy chasers and keepers as an offensive scoring power and their beaters to hold strong in defense. In 2015 the Muggles are training hard and building their Jaffy numbers in the hope of taking out the State and National title. They will host QUAFL at Monash University in December.
The Monash Muggles are always welcoming new members from Monash University. Contact the club or check out the facebook page for more details in regards to training times and ways to get involved. The Muggles train twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings at Monash’s Clayton campus.
